Forgiveness

"There is so much going on in our world today..."

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

The biggest battle we face as believers is not knowing who the real enemy is and also with our thoughts. Perspective is everything when situations arise in our lives. The guarding of our mind is where true victory can be found when confrontation comes or maybe you disagree with someones point of view.

Do you know why so many believers are losing the battles in their lives? It is because they are fighting the wrong enemy. They are harboring unforgiveness and bitterness towards the person and not praying for the hurt they are acting out of. Next time someone hurts you, do not let yourself get sidetracked into being consumed by fighting them.

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Matthew 18:21

Peter asked the Lord how often he should forgive his brother. The Lord’s answer to him was simple, up to 70 times seven. (Matthew 18:22) In other words, all the time! There is not a single person dead or alive who has not broken one of God's commandments.

"For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of it all."         James 2:10

There is no such thing as a "little sinner" or "super sinner." We were all broken before Jesus saved us. It is only when we realize that we have been forgiven much, that we will be able to love and forgive others.

There is so much going on in our world today and we must keep in mind that a divided church will never reach a divided world. We need to forgive others, pray for them, and continue to extend the grace God so freely gives us daily.
