Collectively Confident

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are your works, And that my soul knows very well." Psalm 139:14, NKJV

Feeling confident in your skin should be an everyday knowing of who you are, but don't we all have those days where we do not? In the Word God speaks of inner beauty being the most important; and it ultimately is. We as humans see flaws in ourselves that most from the outside looking in do not. Just as everyone else I've struggled with insecurities and I'll be the first to admit I have let these "feels" get the best of me. Whether it be because of something someone pointed out or something that was spoken over me. Regardless, I took it to heart. Until one day, I realized that I hadn't been meditating on God's Word and who He says I am, and that was in fact the issue. See, our beauty is not found by the natural reflections of a mirror, but by our supernatural vision in seeing who God says we are. "You are all together beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you." Song of Songs 4:7. When it comes down to it; when we allow insecurities and the perversion of the worlds standard of "beauty" come into our lives it is because we are selfishly concentrating on ourselves and who we are not rather than who God says you already are. After all, that's all that matters at the end of the day. From zits to pimples, blemishes to wrinkles, "I will praise you because I am wonderfully and fearfully made."
