My Dad Gives the Best Gifts

I gave my life to the Lordship of Jesus at 15. I desired a truck so I would not have to depend on others to get to church during the week. My family at the time could not afford to buy me a vehicle. So I put my faith out there and asked God, who is my daddy, for a...

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.   Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.  James 1:16-17

One of the biggest deceptions I see people deal with is the belief that God kills, strikes people with sickness when they sin, or disciplines people with pain. The bible refers to the devil as the father of lies and his lies give him lead way to destroy people. The devil is the thief that wants to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). God on the other hand always gives and His gifts are the best. God is the Father of Light. His words are the truth and they bring liberation, healing, and salvation to people.

James gives us a warning in verse 16 when he says, “don’t be deceived, every good and perfect gift comes from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.” It is important they we get this right. God is our Father and His gifts are always good and perfect. He will never deviate from this. God’s desire is for us to live in abundance. He wants our lives to overflow with blessings and has done everything in His power to assure that we do. (Romans 8:32)

I gave my life to the Lordship of Jesus at 15. I desired a truck so I would not have to depend on others to get to church during the week. My family at the time could not afford to buy me a vehicle. So I put my faith out there and asked God, who is my daddy, for a truck and believed that He was going to answer my prayer.  About a week before I turned 16 my dad received some money from the company he had previously worked for. This was unexpected for my dad and perfect timing for me! My dad was able to buy me a truck on my 16th birthday. God gave me the desire of my heart and it was a pleasant surprise!

God wants to give you the desires of your heart. He is fulfilled as your heavenly father when your blessed. The devil takes away but God gives and gives in abundance. What are the desires of your heart? What are you believing God for? Expect surprises from God today! Expect to receive the good and perfect gifts from the Father of Lights today!
